About the School of English, Media and Performing Arts
The School of English, Media & Performing Arts teaches undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs in contemporary English Studies, Media Production and its contexts, Music and Music Education, Fllm Aesthetics and History, the Analysis and History of Theatre Performance and Dance Education.
Our school is located close to the heart of Sydney in the Morven Brown and Robert Webster Buildings on the Kensington campus of the University of New South Wales. Students produce work in our state-of-the-art multimedia, sound, performance, and dance production facilities and venues.
We offer five major areas of study as part of the Bachelor of Arts degree program: English, Media, Culture and Technology, FilmStudies, Theatre and Performance Studies and Music.
We are responsible for the core elements of the following specialised degree programs; Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications), Bachelor of Science (Media and Communications) and the combined Bachelor of Music/Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications)/Bachelor of Laws.
The School offers the four-year vocational Bachelor of Arts (Dance)/Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Music/Bachelor of Education programs that combine courses in Dance with Education and Music with Education respectively.
We also have a comprehensive range of postgraduate offerings for Honours, Masters and PhD programs. Our highly qualified and experienced staff are active and innovative researchers and are currently supervising an exciting group of PhD candidates.
