Media - Media Production
The Bachelor of Media in Media Production is a three year degree which emphasises practical and theoretical skills in contemporary interactive media. Students focus on specialist practice learning in animation and interaction design as well as electives from a wide selection of courses in digital media, design and production, computer game design, interactive environments and advanced web design.

Practical Experience
Bachelor of Media students have the opportunity to gain practical experience related to their area of area of interest in a number of ways. Options include:
- Elective production courses from a wide range of faculties across UNSW, including the College of Fine Arts, Faculty of Built Environment, Computing Science and Engineering and Australian School of Business
- Advanced multimedia labs, digital video production, post production facilities, stop-motion animation and audio studios
- Staff are leading media researchers and practitioners with extensive industry connections and experience. During their degree students work on real world projects which helps build a portfolio
- Arts and Social Sciences Internship (degree credit course)
Career Opportunities
Graduate options may include web design and production, gaming and interactive virtual environments, and other areas of media production, design and distribution. This program enables students to develop foundational skills and knowledge for professional work as content producers in the evolving contemporary media industry.
Honours Program
Honours is an extra year of study, usually following immediately on from a pass degree, that combines aspects of undergraduate study with those of post-graduate research. Studying Honours in the School of English, Media and Performing Arts at UNSW offers a chance to develop your research and professional skills guided by staff who are passionate about research and the development of new researchers.

All students in the Bachelor of Media program complete a set of core courses which focus on media theory and analysis, history, institutions, and media innovation. This is followed by studies in Media Production which includes a range of production skills relevant to contemporary media practice and their social and political contexts. In addition, students complete a minor in the humanities or social sciences, providing the opportunity to build a broader knowledge base for the professional area you wish to pursue. The diverse array of choices includes languages, sociology, theatre and performance studies, film studies, philosophy,
international relations and politics. The minor includes six courses.
A fourth (honours) year program is available to complete a creative practice project or theoretical thesis.
