Future Students
The School of English, Media and Performing Arts offers a wide variety of educational options in English Literature, Creative Writing, Music and Music Education, Film Studies, Dance and Dance Education, Media, Culture and Technology, Theatre and Performance Studies, Media and Communication.
This diverse group of disciplines and interdisciplinary programs enables students to make exciting links across these areas of specialisation, and to engage in both theoretical and practical/creative approaches to academic study.
Through the School, students also have the opportunity to undertake practice-based research at postgraduate level.
Many of the School's academic staff have internationally recognised profiles in research and teaching.
Live performances, resident and visiting artists and companies are supported and hosted each year through the School’s Creative Practice and Research Unit.

Undergraduate Study
An undergraduate degree can provide a pathway to a profession and to further academic study and research.
The School of English, Media and Performing Arts hosts the following undergraduate degrees:
Bachelor of Arts (with Majors in English; Media, Culture and Technology; Film Studies; Theatre and Performance Studies; and Music);
Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications);
Bachelor of Arts (Dance)/Bachelor of Education;
Bachelor of Music;
Bachelor of Music/Bachelor of Arts; and
Bachelor of Music/Bachelor of Education
Honours and Graduate Diploma Study
You can consolidate and fully realise your undergraduate study, preparing yourself for higher research and professional opportunities, by taking an Honours degree or Graduate Diploma (by Research) in one of our disciplines or interdisciplinary programs.
Postgraduate Study
Postgraduate Research
The School has a comprehensive range of postgraduate offerings including Masters and PhD programs. Our highly qualified and experienced academic staff are active and innovative researchers and are currently supervising an exciting and diverse group of PhD and Masters by Research candidates.
Postgraduate Coursework
You can cement or expand your professional or disciplinary understanding of complex specific issues with our Masters by Coursework programs. These degrees enable professionals to demonstrate their achievements formally, or to allow professionals to advance the depth or breadth of their skill-set in the workplace.
The School currently hosts the following Masters by Coursework programs:
Master of Arts by Coursework in Creative Writing; and
Master of Music by Coursework.
